Many Australians with mental illness have difficulty accessing the care they need due to social or geographical isolation and stigma that is associated with mental illness. We worked with the Australian Government to establish MindSpot, the world's first free online and telephone mental health service.

The Solution

The MindSpot Clinic is a free telephone and online mental health service for Australian adults troubled by symptoms of anxiety, depression and related conditions. The clinic provides free Online Screening Assessments to help people learn about their symptoms, Treatment Courses to help them to recover, and it helps people to find local services that can help.

With a world class team of 30 Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, Psychiatrists and Mental Health Professionals, MindSpot is a ground breaking service that is improving the lives of thousands of Australians.

Macquarie University Expertise

MindSpot was founded on the research excellence of Macquarie University's Department of Psychology which is home to a number of world class research centres including the eCentreClinic. The eCentreClinic develops and evaluates innovative psychological treatments, and laid the groundwork for the MindSpot Clinic through the careful development of its online treatment courses. The eCentreClinic continues to support the critical work of the MindSpot Clinic.

Led by Professor Nick Titov of the eCentre Clinic, MindSpot was established over a 6 month period.
